The local ranking: what it measures, and what it deliberately doesn't

Every city on CocoMuny has its own local creator ranking. And although it might look like a feature built for "competing", its internal design prioritises things very different from a typical popularity ranking.

What weighs the most: collaborations and ratings

Completed collaborations and ratings received carry far more weight in the score than followers. It's a deliberate decision, consistent with the rest of the product: rewarding real activity and earned reputation, not potential reach.

An explicit cap on followers

Followers do add points, but with a hard cap — they can't, on their own, take anyone to the top of the ranking. That means someone with few followers but many well-rated collaborations can easily outrank someone with a much bigger audience but little demonstrated activity.

Why it's "local", not global

The ranking is calculated city by city, not globally. You compete with people from your own area, not with profiles from other countries who couldn't even collaborate with the same businesses as you.

What the ranking isn't trying to be

It's not a ranking of fame or of content quality in the abstract. Above all, it's an indicator of reliability within your own community — which is exactly why a new profile always starts from zero, with no shortcuts.
